Vision and Mission
Vision
Our vision is to become a pioneering force that fundamentally reshapes the landscape of academic publishing. We envision a future in which knowledge is not a commodity locked behind paywalls or exorbitant fees, but a truly universally accessible public good—available to any researcher, student, or curious mind, regardless of geographic location, institutional affiliation, or economic means.
In this future, scholarly communication is no longer dominated by profit‑driven models that extract value from the very community that creates it. Instead, we see a vibrant, open ecosystem where dignity is restored to the author, where collaboration replaces competition, and where innovationis measured not by quarterly earnings but by the breadth and depth of human understanding.
We strive to build a global scholarly community that operates on trust, transparency, and mutual respect—a community where early‑career researchers work alongside established professors, where voices from the Global South are heard as clearly as those from the Global North, and where every contribution, no matter how small, is valued for its potential to advance knowledge. Our vision is, ultimately, a world where the pursuit of truth and the sharing of insight become the common heritage of all humanity.
Mission
The mission of Academia Fructus Press is deeply rooted in the ethical dissemination of scholarly work. We do not view publishing as a mere transaction, but as a vital public trust. Our primary aim is to promote sustainable publishing practices—practices that avoid the excesses of either predatory open access or prohibitively expensive subscription models. We seek to champion intellectual creativity by providing a platform for bold, interdisciplinary, and sometimes unconventional ideas that might otherwise be silenced by conservative editorial policies. Simultaneously, we uphold the highest standards of academic professionalism, ensuring that every manuscript receives rigorous, fair, and constructive peer review, and that every published article meets the quality benchmarks expected by the global research community.
To achieve these aims, we execute transparent, inclusive, and socially responsible publishing operations. Transparency means publishing our pricing, policies, and decision‑making processes openly. Inclusivity means actively reaching out to under‑represented scholars, offering language and formatting support where needed, and eliminating discriminatory pricing based on country or institution. Social responsibility means that any surplus beyond a reasonable operating margin will be returned to the scholarly community—through grants, fee waivers, or direct support for open science infrastructure.
As a forward-thinking and author-supported organization, we are committed to advancing publishing models that honor both the contributor’s right to fair recognition (including appropriate attribution, reasonable copyright retention, and where possible, material reward) and the public’s right to barrier‑free access to knowledge. We reject the false choice between “author‑pays” and “reader‑pays.” Instead, we prioritize the development of publishing strategies—such as low‑cost APCs, institutional memberships, and community crowdfunding—that genuinely serve the global research community. Every strategic decision we make is measured against a single standard: does it reinforce the core values of academic integrity (honesty, rigor, reproducibility) and human dignity (respect for every person involved in the creation and use of knowledge)?
All activities of Academia Fructus Press are designed to support the growth of individual scholars—from master’s students to emeritus professors, from independent researchers to lab directors. We aim to promote the unrestricted exchange of ideas across disciplines, cultures, and career stages. And we stand firmly behind the principles of academic freedom (the right to explore controversial or challenging topics without fear of censorship) and social equity (the belief that excellent research can come from anywhere and should be accessible to everyone). Through these commitments, we hope not only to publish papers but also to nurture a more just, vibrant, and productive global scholarly ecosystem.
